Camu camu (Myrciaria dubia)
Tier 3 — weak evidence · Vitamin C · Antioxidant · Anti-inflammatory
An Amazonian berry containing the highest natural concentration of vitamin C of any fruit — up to 60 times more than an orange by weight. One small trial found it significantly reduced inflammation markers more than synthetic vitamin C at equivalent doses, suggesting additional active compounds beyond ascorbic acid. Very limited clinical data. Expensive and mostly available as freeze-dried powder.
Dose: 1–3 g/day freeze-dried powder; extremely high natural vitamin C but very limited human trial data
