Tianeptine ("gas station heroin")
Tier 4 — risky / avoid · Opioid-like dependency
Tianeptine is an unapproved drug sold in gas stations and online as a supplement or nootropic. At those doses it acts on opioid receptors, causes rapid dependence, and produces a withdrawal that can need medical care. The FDA has warned repeatedly that it is not a dietary supplement and has been linked to serious harm, including death. Some US states have banned it. Avoid it.
Dose: Do not take tianeptine. The FDA says it is a dangerous unapproved drug, not a supplement.
