Sibutramine (hidden in supplements)

A weight loss drug withdrawn worldwide in 2010 after the SCOUT trial proved it increased heart attacks and strokes by 16%. Still found as an undeclared adulterant in weight loss supplements — FDA issues dozens of warnings annually about tainted products containing sibutramine. Symptoms include rapid heartbeat, hypertension, and cardiac events. If a weight loss supplement works dramatically, it may be adulterated.
