FDA states there is no safe or effective medical use for oral silver supplements. Causes argyria — permanent, irreversible blue-grey discolouration of skin, eyes, and organs that does not fade. No antimicrobial benefit when taken orally has been demonstrated in any clinical trial. FDA has taken enforcement action against marketers of these products.
