What it is
Contains unique xanthones including alpha-mangostin with anti-inflammatory activity in lab studies. Marketed as a superfruit juice in the 2000s with exaggerated claims. Very few human trials exist; one showed modest improvements in inflammation. The fruit is safe as food. Supplement evidence is almost entirely preclinical.

Take with or without food. Clinical evidence is very limited — treat as a general antioxidant. Fresh or frozen fruit is as effective and more enjoyable.
