Gut · Immunity · Women's health
Tier 2 — Promising

What it is

A probiotic found in fermented foods. The ME-3 strain uniquely produces glutathione, the body's master antioxidant, directly in the gut. Small trials show reduced oxidative stress and improved cholesterol in elderly subjects. Also studied for vaginal health. Less evidence than LGG or S. boulardii but an emerging strain.
