What it is
The dominant beneficial bacterium in healthy vaginal flora. Women with high L. crispatus levels have significantly lower rates of bacterial vaginosis, yeast infections, and UTIs. A 2024 trial of vaginal L. crispatus supplementation showed significantly reduced BV recurrence. Oral and vaginal delivery both studied. One of the most promising next-generation probiotics for women.
