Jambolan (Syzygium cumini)

Ayurvedic · Glucose · Limited evidence
Tier 4 — Risky / Avoid

What it is

Ayurvedic seed extract used historically for diabetes; some animal and small open-label data suggest mild fasting-glucose lowering. Modern high-quality RCT evidence is sparse. May add to hypoglycaemic effect of antidiabetics — caution required. Standardisation is poor across products.
