What it is

A traditional herbal medicine used for centuries as a gentle diuretic and liver tonic. EMA classifies it as a traditional herbal medicine for mild digestive complaints and to increase urine output. Lab studies show anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity, but human clinical trials are very scarce. Rich in inulin prebiotic fibre. Generally well tolerated. May interact with lithium and certain antibiotics by affecting kidney excretion.
