Choline bitartrate (precursor, cost-effective)

Acetylcholine precursor · Liver · Cost-value
Tier 3 — Trending

What it is

A simple choline salt that crosses the blood-brain barrier less efficiently than CDP-choline or alpha-GPC, but supplies the same essential nutrient at a fraction of the price. Useful for general choline-intake repletion (most adults consume below the AI), liver health, and as a base ingredient when stacked with another acetylcholine-targeted compound. Less optimal than CDP-choline or alpha-GPC for nootropic use.

Time of day & tips

Take with meals (fishy body-odour at high doses can be reduced by splitting dose); pairs well with B5 (pantothenic acid) for acetylcholine synthesis; choose CDP-choline or alpha-GPC instead if cognitive endpoints are the goal.
