Tier 2 — Promising

What it is

Saccharomyces cerevisiae grown on malted barley, providing a natural source of B vitamins, chromium, and protein. Some evidence supports its use for blood sugar management in type 2 diabetes due to its chromium content. It may also help with acne due to its zinc and B vitamin content. It is inexpensive and widely available. People with yeast sensitivities or Crohn disease should avoid it.
